This has to be the most boring series of the 2007 NBA Playoffs so far. And now, it’s even worse.

The Detroit Pistons beat the Chicago Bulls 108-87 last night—21-point victory. The Pistons now have a 2-0 game lead over the Bulls and they don’t lose a series when they have a 2-0 game lead.

So, is there any reason to watch—for those not Chicago or Detroit fans or basketball bettors? Nope.

Ben Wallace has made the deal to Chicago official by signing the contract. This will be a huge loss for Detroit. Chicago is licking their chops and waiting for next season. Wallace stands at 6 feet 9 inches. He is a defensive menace. If Chicago does indeed improve their defense, they stand a shot at going further in the playoffs in 2007.

With the writing on the wall, the Detroit Pistons are moving forward to life without Ben Wallace. Ben Wallace is expected to sign a four-year deal with Chicago Bulls next week—when signing can be officially completed. According to the Associated Press, free-agent center Nazr Mohammed has agreed to a deal with the Detroit Pistons. The deal is for five-years with the last year being an option. Nazr Mohammed would make about $5,000,000 next season.

There will be no game seven in Detroit this season. For the first time in franchise history the Miami Heat are going to the NBA finals. Yesterday’s game six was pretty lackluster for the Pistons who looked like they were still packing in Detroit. Heat star Wade was playing with the flu, but you would not know it. The hunger and desire of the Heat was evident as they were ferocious in every aspect of the game.

Last night the Detroit Pistons were facing elimination in game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals in Detroit. They definitely came to play and to prove that they were a championship caliber team. The Heat never appeared in the game really. It appeared as if they were not giving a full effort. While the Pistons won, they did not necessarily have stellar performances from all key players. It’s almost as if Miami came out hoping Detroit would be down and over play so they could steal one.

The Detroit Pistons are up against the wall, down 3-1 to the Miami Heat. There is no room left for soft play. Each and every Piston player must step up and have a great game tonight or they are done for the season. Detroit has shown the ability to step it up when pushed, but this series has called their overall ability into question. Should they have not shown up last game? They lost by 11 points.

Last night the Miami Heat put one more nail in the coffin of the Detroit Pistons. The Heat now leads the best of seven series 3-1. The 89-78 loss puts the Miami Heat and coach Pat Riley one step closer to their mission. It seems like the Detroit Pistons are more committed to talking than playing. The writing may be on the wall for this year’s Pistons.

Tonight, it’s game four of the Eastern Conference finals. The Pistons are looking to even the score at Miami. The current line has the Heat as a minor 2 point favorite and the under/over is 183. In game 3, the Miami Heat looked defiant as they chalked up a series leading win. The Pistons have been on shaky ground during the playoffs this year and they are performing a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde type show.
