Welsch Leaves Bucks

Jiri Welsch, a former first round draft selection, has decided to call it quits with the Milwaukee Bucks. According to his agent, Sam Goldfender, Welsch has signed a deal with a professional basketball team in Spain. The Bucks apparently weren’t interested in resigning him, but Goldfender said that other teams were indeed interested.

Welsch is 26 years old. He played in 58 games for the Bucks last season. He was not a major player and contributed 4.3 points per game off the bench. 56 of those games were played from the bench—he started 2 games last season. He’s been a bit of a journeyman and now he will leave the NBA to go play in Spain.
