Steve Nash Proves Importance in Loss

Game one of the Western Conference semi-finals between the San Antonio Spurs and Phoenix Suns went to the Spurs.

The Spurs won because Steve Nash wasn’t in the game. With a couple minutes to go, Nash collided with Tony Parker. While Parker went down—later got back up—Nash appeared okay—then the blood came.

Nash split his nose open and while he tried to stay in the game, he was eventually forced out. He came in briefly and hit an important 3-pointer, but eventually he was out. They couldn’t stop the blood.

When Nash went out, the Suns looked like the Phoenix High School team. They were completely without direction and lifeless. They forced up some shots, stopped playing when phantom fouls weren’t called and lost.

Without Steve Nash, the Phoenix Suns are a second-rate team. That’s not meant to mean the other players aren’t good, but they are elevated with him in the game. He’s the general on that team and the Suns can’t make it without him.

Game 2 is Tuesday night and the Vegas sportsbooks have the Suns favored by 5-6 already. The Suns know they let one slip away.

Nash was undoubtedly hurting as he watched his team falter. Look for him and the Suns to be out for revenge on Tuesday.
