The Miami Heat have stunned the Dallas Mavericks and those watching the NBA Finals. For the Mavericks, the world is spinning out of control. They have went from a few minutes of taking a commanding 3-0 lead in the NBA Finals to being down 3-2 and facing elimination in a few shorts days. The Heat have played very well at home and with the game layout, if you can play well at home and are the underdog, you have a shot. Those three games at home in a row can kill the favorite.

Last night the Heat needed OT to dispatch the Mavericks. The game was a thriller that ended 101-100. Dwyane Wade had a monster game. If you want to know why the Mavericks lost, go back and watch the last 1.5 minutes of the game. They missed critical free throws. Had they hit just one of those misses, this game would have been going into double OT.

Oh, and there was the timeout mistake. Nothing like burning your last time out in between some free throws so you can’t advance the ball. But hey, there was 1.6 seconds left—plenty of time right? What a rookie mistake. I am not even in the NBA and I know not to do that. It cost the Mavericks a clear last second shot. They may have still lost, but after the time out incident, they did not even have a shot at a win.

The bad news for the Heat is they must now travel to Dallas and win one game there. The good news is they have two cracks at it. The Heat have not shown the ability to play in the big D. Meanwhile, the Mavericks have looked like a different team at home—a championship team. Odds are, this series will go the distance. The pressure is now on both teams.

Should Dallas lose, it will be a monumental collapse given their position in game three with 6 or so minutes left in that game. The Heat are now up 3-2 and they are expected by their fans to win one of two in Dallas. If they lose both, they will have lost after having a 3-2 lead. The Heat won three straight at home, so Dallas winning just two at home should not be out of the realm of possibility at all.

The Mavericks look like they are becoming unglued at times. The pressure is going to be intense for game 6 in Dallas. This will be a real test for them. Miami should have a little more relaxed feeling as they have two shots to bring home the title. Shaqs promise of brining home a title to Miami—when he was signed there—is just one win away.

Game 6 is tomorrow at 9:00 pm EST. The Dallas Mavericks are a 6 point favorite at home. The under/over is 188. The money line is -300 for the Mavericks and +240 for the Heat. The first half line is currently Dallas -3.5. It’s possible that this line will come down, given the past three performances by both clubs.
