Heat Make Finals

There will be no game seven in Detroit this season. For the first time in franchise history the Miami Heat are going to the NBA finals. Yesterday’s game six was pretty lackluster for the Pistons who looked like they were still packing in Detroit. Heat star Wade was playing with the flu, but you would not know it. The hunger and desire of the Heat was evident as they were ferocious in every aspect of the game.

Miami won 95-78, but the game was not even that close—if you can believe it. The Heat, behind legendary coach Pat Riley, put the series in the bag and created a moment that will live in the franchise forever. The Heat are hoping that Phoenix can tie up the Western Conference Championship tonight and force a game seven. Aside from the rest the Heat have until the Finals, they would love to get a team that had to play an extra game.

The Dallas Mavericks have already went the limit in the previous series and another seven game series might take its toll in the NBA finals. Back when Shaq first came to Miami, he promised a ring. The Heat are one step closer to bringing fulfilling that promise. Shaq’s success also begs the question, who is more valuable between him and Kobe? If the Heat win in the finals, the answer may just be Shaq. Time will tell. The NBA Finals look to be one exciting match up no matter which team comes out of the West.
