At one minute past midnight, EST, the free trade party opens up. There are tons of rumors flying around. We don’t expect there to be a flurry of action right off, but there are definitely lots of deals in the works. Around the NBA world, many are talking about a possible deal that would send Allen Iverson out of Philadelphia. To where and for what, no one knows yet. A deal of that magnitude would send aftershocks around the 76er fan world.
Could Iverson be heading to the Atlanta Hawks? They certainly could use some talent down there. One team getting all the buzz is the Boston Celtics. However, who could they deal to get Iverson? Certainly not Paul Pierce. We are going to have to keep our ears alert this off-season. Iverson being traded would definitely be the biggest news.
There was some talk about Rashard Lewis being shopped around by Seattle. However, the Sonics would only do the deal if someone of his talent level came in return. Perhaps they should focus more on drafting. They could have had J.J. Reddick, but choose a very raw player with no offensive skills from Senegal. The Sonics are at a critical point. Look for some possible moves from them.
