Tonight, it’s game four of the Eastern Conference finals. The Pistons are looking to even the score at Miami. The current line on most online sportsbook has the Heat as a minor 2 point favorite and the under/over is 183. In game 3, the Miami Heat looked defiant as they chalked up a series leading win. The Pistons have been on shaky ground during the playoffs this year and they are performing a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde type show.

For the betting public, the real question is which Pistons team will show up? Will it be the meek Pistons team that was destroyed last game or the championship caliber Pistons team that controlled game two? If you are a fan of cycles, it should be the latter version that comes to the hardwood tonight.

In game 3 on Saturday, the Pistons looked like they did not belong in the playoffs. The Heat was simply too much for them in Miami. While the 15 point win (98-83) was very humiliating, I wonder if it did not serve as a wake-up notice for the Pistons—sort of a waking the sleeping giant type of thing. In the Cleveland series, it looked as if the Pistons were asleep at the wheel and ready to hit the exits, but then they turned it up when needed. Perhaps the Pistons are simply playing when they must and resting the other times. One thing is for sure, if they survive another series that goes the distance, there won’t be much left in the tank to take on the Western Conference champion.
