The New Jersey Nets just can’t catch a break. Their rookie forward, Josh Boone, underwent shoulder surgery yesterday. Boone was a first round selecting in this year’s NBA draft. Over the summer he complained of discomfort. It turns out that he had a torn labrum in his left shoulder. The surgery is being described as successful.
Right now, there is no timetable for Boone coming back. The most important thing is that this is the only problem with him. Also, the Nets need to make sure that this does not become a reoccurring problem or lead to other problems with Boone. They need to take it slow. The Nets are excited about Boone. He’s 6-foot-10 and expected to really help in the size department—something the Nets had trouble with last season.
