Ok Cleveland Cavalier fans, you can breathe now. It’s finally over. LeBron James agreed to a deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers and that whole silence ordeal is now over. The smart forward turned down a five year deal with Cleveland initially. He decided on a three year deal with the team. The issue was not money—Cleveland was offering the maximum allowed by the NBA is both instances.
The Boston Celtics and Paul Pierce have agreed on a deal to keep the forward in Boston for a little longer. The contract extension is estimated to be in the range of $60 million for three years. Before the deal, Pierce’s contract was due to run out in the 2007-2008 season. He will be making $16 million for next year so this new contract would be a healthy upgrade.
Ben Wallace has made the deal to Chicago official by signing the contract. This will be a huge loss for Detroit. Chicago is licking their chops and waiting for next season. Wallace stands at 6 feet 9 inches. He is a defensive menace. If Chicago does indeed improve their defense, they stand a shot at going further in the playoffs in 2007.
